Garry Trudeau Talks Trump and 50 Years of ‘Doonesbury’

Garry Trudeau made a stop in Washington, D.C., for a number of appearances to discuss his new book #SAD! Doonesbury in the Time of Trump, which released Sept. 18. He appeared on “Matter of Fact” with Soledad O’Brien and “The Lead with Jake Tapper,” and spoke and signed books to a capacity crowd of 400 at Politics & Prose bookstore. While in D.C., Trudeau visited the Doonesbury exhibit at the Newseum, which was established to increase public understanding of the importance of a free press and the First Amendment. Trudeau also has done recent interviews with Rolling Stone and The Washington Post to discuss his body of work and how it has reflected 50 years of evolving political landscapes.
