Andrews McMeel Universal recognized as Small Business Superstar

Andrews McMeel Universal is proud to announce we’ve been recognized as a 2022 Small Business Superstar by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.

Small Business Superstars are submitted by customers, clients, and members of the community. This campaign recognizes any small business that is submitted, has fewer than 250 employees, is a for-profit business, and headquartered in Greater Kansas City.

“We are honored to be recognized as a 2022 Small Business Superstar. We’ve called Kansas City home for over 50 years, and we’re so proud of the legacy the Andrews and McMeel families have built and the impact they continue to have in our community,” said Susan Johnson, Chief People and Communications Officer. “We’ve grown and evolved into a global media company, but our commitment to our hometown remains steadfast.”

“We are proud to recognize the 2022 Small Business Superstars,” said Vicky Kulikov, the KC Chamber’s Small Business Director. “These are businesses that started because of ideas that began over a cup of coffee or a conversation in someone’s basement or a handshake between two friends. Now they’ve become part of the backbone of our local economy and really help KC move forward even after more than two years of a global pandemic.”

This is the second year the KC Chamber has recognized Superstars. In 2021 the Chamber honored 1,200 small businesses; in 2022, that number has grown to 2,000.

Small Business Superstars are part of the kickoff to the KC Chamber’s 2022 Small Business Celebration, honoring businesses competing to be named Small Business of the Year. The Celebration is one of the largest of its kind in the nation, growing and honoring small businesses for more than 30 years.
