AMU supports the Black community

We, at Andrews McMeel Universal, are anguished and appalled by the ongoing racism and racist violence against Black people in our country. We stand in solidarity with our vibrant and courageous Black community: our colleagues, writers, creators, artists, cartoonists, poets, clients, booksellers, librarians and readers. We redouble our commitment to work for social justice, to listen to voices different from our own, and to provide a safe and inclusive home for Black creators.

We are taking action within our local community by making a corporate donation to the Urban League of Greater Kansas City’s Project Ready program. In addition, we are sponsoring ongoing discussions and education through anti-racism awareness and professional development programs, as well as unconscious bias training.

As an equal opportunity employer, we are working to accelerate recruitment and hiring practices that will expand awareness of career opportunities among candidates with diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.

Our commitment will continue as we develop and implement a long-term sustainable action plan to advance diversity, equity and inclusion at Andrews McMeel Universal.
