AMU partners with the KC Chamber

AMU has partnered with the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, a membership organization representing 300,000 employees at 2,000 companies in Missouri and Kansas. Among its many goals, the Chamber seeks to increase its members’ visibility and connectivity and provide programs, resources and events to help members grow their businesses.

A member of the Chamber since 1976, AMU strives to support community improvement initiatives critical to our city’s economic success and increase company awareness to drive growth and attract talent. Now, through our Pinnacle Partnership, AMU has increased its professional and philanthropic involvement by participating in the following programs:

  • Neighborhood Networking: These casual, conversational networking sessions are held twice a month at interesting venues and businesses throughout the area. As a sponsor, AMU is able to attend and host events, as well as share our mission with other Chamber members.
  • genKC: This program, geared toward young professionals in the Greater KC area, provides opportunities to enhance personal and professional skills through a variety of networking, community involvement and professional development opportunities.
  • Diversity & Inclusion: As AMU strengthens our commitment to this principle, our support helps the KC Chamber enhance its framework of programs and resources designed to embrace and improve inclusion in the workplace.
  • ATHENA Award: Each year, this award honors a person who has achieved the highest level of professional excellence, devoted time and energy to the community, and opened the doors of leadership opportunity to women. Susan Johnson, AMU Chief People and Communications Officer, serves on the selection committee to help choose the recipients.

Other AMU senior leaders also contribute to the Chamber. President and CEO Andy Sareyan is part of the CEO Roundtable, a group of top executives who meet regularly to brainstorm, problem-solve and share challenges, opportunities and successes. COO Kelly Carnago serves on the executive committee of the board of directors, where she weighs in on issues the Chamber will address.

AMU is proud to partner with the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and assist its efforts to help the Kansas City business community thrive.
