Kansas City, MO (June 1, 2021) Andrews McMeel Syndication (AMS) announces it will begin the distribution of editorial cartoons by Mike Lester, effective June 1, 2021. His work will feature a conservative viewpoint and will update three times a week.

“I couldn’t be happier to work with Andrews McMeel,” said Lester, “but the bigger honor is to share my cartoons with readers daily. My opinion is no more important than yours, mine just comes with pictures.”

Adds Shena Wolf, director of comics and acquisitions at AMS: “We are delighted to be working with Mike Lester to syndicate his editorial cartoons. Now more than ever, voices are needed from all sides of the political spectrum. Mike’s work speaks for itself, and we’re excited to add his cartoons to our roster.”

A native Atlantan and UGA graduate, Lester spent five years with the Atlanta Journal as an editorial illustrator, also working on the Sunday op-ed feature, and was the staff editorial cartoonist for the Rome News Tribune (Georgia) for ten years. Through his company, Mike Lester Studio, Inc., he has created images for national brand ad campaigns, collegiate logos and collectibles, worked on television commercials and produced many children’s books, including “A Is for Salad,” which made the New York Times “Best of 2000” list.

Lester is the creator of the comic strip “Mike du Jour,” originally created for and appearing on the Wall Street Journal website WSJ.com. He is also a founding member of CounterPoint, a select group of the best editorial cartoonists in America. He has won five National Cartoonists Society Awards and two Sigma Delta Chi Awards from the Society of Professional Journalists.

Mike Lester’s editorial cartoons can also be found on GoComics.com and can be licensed for publication by contacting the sales team at Andrews McMeel Syndication (salesdirector@amuniversal.com, 1-800-255-6734).
