Consumer Shopping FAQs

Shipping

What if I want to get my items faster?

You can select a different shipping speed by clicking the radio button next to that option on the order form. Note that changing your shipping speed to a faster method will not improve the estimated shipping date, but your estimated delivery date will improve.

If I request One-Day Shipping, will I get my order the next day?

If your order is received prior to 10:00 am CST and you select UPS Next Day Air Saver or UPS Next Day and your shipping address is within the Continental United States you should receive your order the next day. Please note: There is no weekend pickup or delivery for some shipping selections.

How much does shipping cost?

Your shipping costs will be calculated based on weight and the shipping method.

Returns

How long does it take to receive my refund?

Refunds are requested after we receive and process your return. You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your credit card to process our refund request (see below for specific guidelines). We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

You can view completed returns and refunds at the bottom of an order's summary page in Your Account. If the return and refund do not appear in Your Account within four weeks from the day you sent us your return, please e-mail us for further assistance.

  • The policy covers the treatment and use of personally identifiable information that is collected by Andrews McMeel Publishing, LLC (AMP) at its Web site.
  • The policy does not cover information that may or may not be collected by companies or Web sites that AMP does not own or control. This policy also does not guide the behavior of individuals not employed by AMP.

How is my personally identifiable information used by AMP?

AMP is the sole owner of the information collected from the AMP service. Your Personal Information can only be collected when you voluntarily provide it.

What is "Personal Information"?

Personal Information is individually identifiable information about a person. This information can include a first and last name, credit card number, a home, billing or e-mail address or a personal identifier that reveals an individual's e-mail address, or a telephone or social security number. Personal information also includes a persistent identifier, such as a customer number held in a cookie (See below for definition of "cookie"), where such identifier is associated with individually identifiable information.

When does AMP collect my information, including personally identifiable information?

Free Registration. When you register, AMP asks for your e-mail address, a user selected user name, and other information. Once you are a registered user you can update your profile and may be able to provide additional preferential information (e.g. a member name, a nickname, and certain user preferences). AMP may also ask for other optional information. (See below on AMP's policy with respect to children under 13)

Special Contests or Promotions. AMP may occasionally present a special contest or promotion that is sponsored by another company. To qualify for entry in that contest or promotion, we may ask you to provide personal information. If we plan to share that information with the sponsor(s) or with others, we will provide a statement to that effect in the contest or promotion terms.

IP Address. An Internet Protocol (IP) address is unique string of numbers that is assigned to your computer by your Internet Service Provider. Web servers automatically identify your computer by its IP address. We will use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our site. Your IP address also may be used to gather broad demographic information.

Cookies. A "cookie" is a small line of text that is stored with your Web browser for record-keeping purposes and to help us provide better service to you. Your browser has options to accept, reject, or provide you with notice when a cookie is sent. AMP may utilize "cookie" technology by sending and/or receiving information from our computers to your browser and computer. We also use cookies to customize our site(s) and deliver content specific to your interests.

Computer-Generated Information. AMP may use server logs to track your movement through our Web sites and properties - in addition, we may use this information to customize the user experience or provide registrant continuity between our various Web sites and properties. AMP may also use other technologies to verify and track your use of certain services, confirm receipt of certain e-mailed products or to test the integrity of our systems, products and services.

Information from Other Sources. For reasons such as improving member experience and providing customized communications to our users, we may receive information about you from other sources and add it to the information that we have received from you.

Who does AMP share information with?

We will not share your personally identifiable information with third parties (aside from entities that perform services for us, such as fulfilling orders, that either are bound to comply with our privacy policy or have privacy policies that protect your information) unless you have "opted-in" to such sharing. If you have previously opted-in to such sharing under a prior privacy policy version, you are still considered to have opted-in under this Privacy Statement.

However, AMP may disclose information you provide if required to do so by law or if we have a good faith belief that disclosure is necessary to (1) comply with the law or with legal process served on AMP; (2) protect and defend the rights or property of AMP; or (3) act in an emergency to protect someone's safety.

We may gather demographic information from you (for example, your age, education level or household income) from time to time. We will not share that information in a manner that identifies you as an individual with any other entity, unless we let you know that at the time of collection or we have your permission. When we share demographic information with third parties, we will give them aggregate information only.

As we develop our business, we may buy or sell assets, and, depending upon the transaction, your personal information may be one of the transferred assets. In the event that AMP is acquired by another company, your personal information may be part of the assets transferred to the acquiring party.

What are my options to control the use of my personally identifiable information?

You will have the ability to request the deletion of your AMP registration at any time by utilizing the registration system established for this purpose. However, we may maintain certain other information as part of our internal processes to prevent accidental loss of user data or information and to prevent or discourage fraudulent activities that may involve AMP registration or account information. We may also continue to maintain information about your registration or account and your computer access to our Web sites or services as part of our server logs.

Unless you opt-out we may e-mail you with information from AMP, including information about selected third parties. If you do not want to receive information from AMP or third parties that we have selected, you may decline to receive it (or "Opt-Out") when you provide personal information to AMP, or you may update your profile. You may also contact AMP by postal.

What about kids' personally identifiable information?

The AMP Sites are general audience sites and are not directed to children under the age of 13. AMP assumes products purchased through credit card means are purchased by adults. AMP respects the privacy of parents and children and is committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). On those areas of the Sites that ask for age, AMP does not collect personal information from individuals who identify themselves as under the age of 13 except in those limited circumstances where AMP believes that such collection is permitted under COPPA.

AMP may ask prospective users to provide their age during the registration process. If a user indicates that he or she is under the age of 13 then all personal data collected during the registration process is automatically deleted except AMP may retain and use limited information, such as the child's e-mail address, for a limited period of time, in those cases where AMP believes that the collection and use of such information is permitted under COPPA.

If a parent believes that his or her child has submitted personal information to AMP, he or she can contact us via e-mail or postal mail. AMP will delete the information upon learning that it relates to a child under the age of 13.

AMP believes that parents should supervise their children's online activities and consider using parental control tools available from online services and software manufacturers that help provide a kid-friendly online environment. These tools can also prevent children from otherwise disclosing online their name, address and other personal information without parental permission.
