The Fayetteville Central United Methodist Church is just one example of this phenomenon, with their Zits schedule offering classes that focus on family life, delving into topics that range from nutrition to juvenile dating to single-parent families.

Zits spans the gap between fantasy and reality better than any other cartoon in comic history. Parents across the country feel like Jeremy mirrors their own adolescent, and many teens agree that their parents are just as clueless as Walt and Connie. About Jim Borgman and Jerry Scott

Jim Borgman earned the 1991 Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning and is the four time winner of the National Cartoonist Society's Best Editorial Cartoonist Award. He lives in Cincinnati, where he is the Cincinnati Enquirers editorial cartoonist.

Jerry Scott is the co-creator of the comic strip Baby Blues as well as Nancy. In 2002, Scott won the Reuben Award for Outstanding Cartoonist of the Year, the National Cartoonist Society's highest honor. He resides in Malibu, California.
