Andrews McMeel Universal CEO Andy Sareyan has named Kelly Carnago as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. Since 2014, Carnago has been the Kansas City-based leader for Google Fiber, where she led teams focused on community impact, business outreach and customer acquisition. She will assume her new role at AMU on February 7, 2018.
“Kelly brings a wealth of experience, a professional network, and a diverse set of skills that will contribute mightily to the significant financial success and extensive growth AMU has achieved over the past few years.” said Sareyan. “She is an experienced and efficient leader, and culturally, she couldn’t be a more seamless fit.”
Prior to her work at Google Fiber, Carnago was the Chief Carrier Operations Officer for HYLA Mobile, where she was responsible for brand strategy, marketing, managing relationships with all global partners, and driving company results. Carnago joined HYLA as the seventh employee and helped expand it to 300 employees across 10 countries. She held prior executive positions at EMBARQ, including Vice President of Product and Business Development and Vice President of Sales.
Carnago is deeply involved in the Kansas City community, currently serving as a board director of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and a steering committee member of KC Rising. She also plays active roles at The United Way and The International Women’s Forum. The Kansas City Business Journal honored her in 2013 as a recipient of its Women Who Mean Business award and named her one of the 100 Most Powerful People in KC Business in 2016. Ingrams followed suit by naming Kelly to its own power list of leaders in both 2016 and 2017.
