NEW YORK Are you counting the days until the October 4 release of "The Complete Calvin and Hobbes"? You can also count the hours, minutes, and seconds if you visit the Web site of Andrews McMeel Publishing.
The site (www.andrewsmcmeel.com) has a perpetually running "clock" to let people know exactly how long they have to wait to see the massive, three-volume, $150 book — which will have a first printing of 250,000 copies.
When E&P looked just before posting this story, the book's release was 188 days, 11 hours, 50 minutes, and 49 seconds away.
"Calvin and Hobbes," of course, is the now-retired comic starring a boy and a tiger. It was running in more than 2,000 newspapers when Bill Wattersonended it a decade ago after a 10-year run with Universal Press Syndicate.
